Our Projects

DOGS Best Christmas Ever

This is our annual event we’re most known for. Every season since 2005 we bring volunteers and families together to provide a memorable Christmas to very deserving, less fortunate kids. The event greets each child with a red-carpet entrance. We go to great measures to create a family environment and a hands-on loving experience for each of these children.

Our donors , sponsors and volunteers  make it all possible. This event affords children with food, games, and gifts. Best of all, we make them feel like kings and queens for a day. We assign a chaperon to each child, making sure that child is taken care of, served and entertained.

Brighter Beginnings

This project started back in 2008, as D.O.G.S. met the family during one of our events.  This particular family was nominated to receive gifts from us. When we arrived there, we saw the family’s living condition and we knew right then and there that the family needed much more from us than Christmas gifts.

D.O.G.S did what we could with our own funds, then raised additional funds from fund raising events such as car washes.  We were then able to install the foundation and the water well.  D.O.G.S teamed up with Fort Bend Corps.  They played a vital role in the project.  Because of this alliance with Fort Bend Corp, several sponsors came aboard, including Home depot.

Our prayer is that our efforts inspire communities to help each other in times of need.  We were especially moved by the volunteering sponsors who stepped up to help, even during a “down”economy.  It certainly renewed our faith in folks and their no-questions-asked willingness to give.

PROM PRINCESS

We made a dream come true for a teenage to attend prom! Our merit-based nominee was treated to a makeover, new dress and a lim for her prom night.

It’s every girls dream to go to the senior prom but for some it might not be financially possible. DOGS took that burden for one senior student who was working to help her grandmother pay the bills for her and her brother. With help from our sponsors we were able to bless this student with an all-expense-paid dream prom!

Our well deserving nominee enjoyed her prom night looking beautiful, as well as enjoyed a limo ride to a dinner of her choice.

queen for a day

This single mother of a special needs child was nominated for the Houston Chronicle  Queen for a day, but was not selected in the final. So DOGS jumped into action to make this dream come true for this deserving mother.

We search and find individuals who could simply use and break or really benefit from deserved recognition. Sometimes it’s the little things that can carry an individual to greater heights in their life. And we are so very grateful to our sponsors and volunteers to who team up together to make it all happen.

These are just a few of the projects that we have undertaken. DOGS is always on the hunt to MAKE A DIFFERENCE. And the best part of it all…we find that many folks in the community want to join the party and and make a difference as well, with their contributions, donations and volunteering. Thank you to all our sponsors and volunteers! DOGS loves you!
